Cool Chihuahua Clothes For Your Pet Before Halloween!

Halloween is coming! I am sure, our lovely pets want to have fun as well. Why not buying some witch Chihuahua clothes to celebrate? Your friends will be amazed for sure!

   Dog Clothes Designs

Fortunately online doggy fashion boutiques have sprung up to address the issue of fashion and functionality. There is now every reason to your little dog warm and stylish. The array of designer dog clothes available is mind-blowing. Everything is available from urban hip hoodies through designer t-shirts to knitted sweaters. From the cutest hats and scarves to faux fur-lined fleece lined parkas for those chilly winter days. How about a bright raincoat for those grey days, yep, you can get those too. For the really special occasion there are diamante encrusted dresses or for the ultimate day out there are wedding dresses complete with tiaras for the girls and tuxedo themed outfits for the little guys. For the night time rather than an old blanket that’s continually slipping off why not treat your dog to some toasty pyjamas?

Halloween Chihuahua Clothes   Choosing The Right Fit

As with human clothing Size labels will vary from one company to the next. If your dog is "in-between" sizes always go for the larger size. It is far better for dog clothing to be slightly too large rather than slightly too small. To accurately size your dog take the following measurements:

1) Circumference of the neck

2) Circumference of the chest

3) Length of the back from middle of neck to base of the tail. The garment should not hamper the dog’s movement.. Remember wearing designer dog clothes should be fun for both you and your dog.

So stay frosty. Everyone knows that clothing is essential. Nowadays it is important to know how to dress so that you look fashionable and stylish, while remaining comfortable. Here and now the world of designer dog clothes is gaining momentum.

At the end of the day, our pets should feel comfortable too. Imagine the bad weather: rain, damp, cold... Are you shriveling? But your cute little friend, too, has hard times! Your Chihuahua will thank you for new clothes, for sure.

Dressing Your Puppy In Chihuahua Clothes

Have you ever seen those adorable little dogs all dressed up in matching outfits? When you saw them, didn't you laugh, smile, or make a comment on how adorable they were? Did you ever wonder how you could do the same with your dog? Turn your cute dog into an adorable, dressed-up, pampered poochala! Also, find out how to get your dog to stay in a stroller or basket!

Why some dogs in the stroller stay so calm and don't mind being dressed up? The answer is that usually they've gotten used to it, because they do it often enough that they know to behave. Or the owner tells them that they know that they will get more attention if they are well-behaved that if they aren't. How did they get that way? Some start dressing up their dogs, while it is young.

How to dress up your Chihuahua

Chihuahua Clothes Puppy   The first rule of thumb is practice, praise, and patience (The Three P’s). Another thing is frequency and duration.

   • In order for your dog to become comfortable with wearing outfits, practice frequently. However, you’ll want to start out having the outfit on your dog for only a few minutes, gradually increasing the time as your dog becomes more comfortable.

   • While your dog has the outfit on, praise and reward him, making it a fun and enjoyable time for the dog. Play with your dog while the clothes are on. Cuddle with him in your lap, walk him around, and encourage him to be himself. Most of all, make it FUN for the dog & you!

   • You’ll also need patience, because some dogs won’t initially like having clothes on him. He might shake, roll, or try to paw or bite it off. If your dog doesn’t like wearing clothes, try giving him a toy, something he enjoys, or play with him to distract him from the initial discomfort of clothing. However, don’t force your dog if he resists, because some dogs simply don’t like wearing clothing. Other dogs love wearing outfits so much that they will pose for pictures, prance when wearing their outfit, and show off their outfits to anyone they see. Remember, personalities and opinions differ with each dog.

Along with just dressing your dog up for fun, you can dress him up to go to the park, a pet parade, or parties. Also, put on a trick show with your dog wearing a cute hat. Visit friends, shut-ins, or older folks at nursing homes for pet therapy. Or simply enjoy a few laughs, smiles, and an adorable dog. At first when you put a hat on your dog, he might lower his head or try to shake it off. Again, praise and encourage the dog, and only have the hat on for a few seconds to a minute at first.

How To Choose Chihuahua Clothes

Your little pet sometimes needs new clothes. But it is much easier to buy Chihuahua clothes when your pet is grown-up already. In this case you won’t buy it constantly. In the days of present crisis, when economy isn’t a wish-wash, you should buy Chihuahua clothes sensibly.

Think about how long it will last and how heavily it can be used. These are all general ways of determining if a price is good, but some may want a specific guideline. This can be very tough to determine, but what can be said is that no piece of dog clothing should retail for more than $40. That just applies to the thicker items like coats; for things like shirts the price shouldn’t be more than $25. Wholesale is too tricky to predict because so much bargaining goes on in that level. All in all, just trust your gut instinct and don’t be ripped off.

Choose Chihuahua Clothes

The availability of an item will have great influence on its price. For example, big companies can buy thousands of each piece of dog clothing which is why so often their clothing goes for much cheaper. The smaller stores may not be able to do this, but they will have a different selection than the big competitors and better quality (ideally). Anyway, remember to take this into consideration when deciding how much is too much. You have to ask yourself, “how common is this style?” It may be super cheap but will every dog on the block have the same piece. If something is less available, your dog will have a better chance of looking unique. The most important thing to remember in all of this is to do your research and to not get ripped off buying something that shouldn’t be too expensive.

Dog Names in Dog Training

Cute Chihuahua

Another very practical point which is often overlooked when choosing dog names is that the dog mustn't be confused by his name.

At the higher levels of obedience competition your dog will be on the ball and can easily anticipate your commands - especially if he's a Border Collie! So if you say "Sssam ... down," you may find that Sssam has sssat instead and you've just lost five marks.

If you're getting a dog with a view to competition obedience, you'd better check the usual commands with an experienced handler. You can't change dog names mid-dog!

Are You a Newcomer in Chihuahua Clothes Choosing?

Some people may think dressing their Chihuahua up in clothes is just silly or even cruel. However, putting clothes on them will give them extra warmth and protection during those chilly nights. They often catch cold quick.

If you are new to choosing clothes for your Chihuahua, you might seem a little bit lost. I mean, how are you supposed to know what clothes to get for a dog? Well, the best part of dressing up your Chihuahua is that there is no right or wrong choice. It's all a matter of what your taste is. Here's a suggestion though; try to match the clothes with your Chihuahuas attitude or personality. If you have a little princess Chihuahua, you could get her something pink, like a cute pink dress. If you have a tough, boy Chihuahua, you could get a black shirt with a skull and crossbones on it. The sky is the limit!

There's a lot of different types of clothes one can find for their Chihuahua. T-shirts are the most common, and are great for all climates and conditions. They are lightweight, versatile, and come in many different styles, colors, and designs. You can't go wrong with the t-shirt.

If you are looking for something a bit thicker and warmer, consider getting your Chihuahua a nice sweater. It help him stay warm during the winter and in the colder climates. However, sweaters are not a good choice for hot summer days.

Chihuahua Clothes Choosing   This might sound like a new concept to some people, but dresses are now a popular choice for Chihuahuas. Most of them are made to easily slip on and off, and there's not much else that can make your Chihuahua look as cute a dress can.

Another newcomer to the Chihuahua clothing scene is the hoodie. Just like hoodies for us people, it it basically a sweater with a built-in cap used to cover their head and keep it warm. The hoodie is great for small Chihuahuas who get cold ears easily.

These are the most popular clothes choices for Chihuahuas. Take some time to decide which ones right for your Chihuahua. Of course nowadays you can find just about any type of clothes, so don't be limited to these choices.

Here's a tip for dressing up your Chihuahua; use treats! Chihuahuas, just like all other canines, love treats. Giving them a treat each time you want to dress them up will train them that clothes are a good thing. I hope this article will help you find the right clothes for your Chihuahua!

Breeding Chihuahuas - part 3

Chihuahua Clothes

Part 1 and Part 2

Chihuahuas suffer from other medical complications such as a ruptured uterus, or infection of the uterus (acute metritis). The bacteria in the uterus from the infection can cause the death of both the mother and her pups if not treated in time. If you notice pus mixed with a blood discharge before or after delivery it may very well be acute metritis and you will need to get your pet to a veterinarian immediately. Other warning signs of acute metritis include excessive urination, vomiting, or the motherĂ¢€™s refusal to nurse or eat.

Your Chihuahua mother may suffer from hypoglycemia... where her blood sugar drops so low that she can go into shock, seizures and possible death. Her pups may suffer from hypoglycemia as well.

Shortly after whelping (giving birth) the brood bitch may suffer from Eclampsia also known as hypocalcemia, or canine milk fever. The common signs of this disease include: in coordination, panting, twitching of the eye, and severe muscles spasms. When this happens it is imperative that your dog been seen by the veterinarian.

If you are not sure of the health and history of both the stud and female Chihuahua (brood bitch), it is highly recommended that you leave the breeding up to a professional breeder, or purchase your Chihuahua from reputable seller, local rescue group or animal shelter.

If It's Too Cold Out There For Chihuahua

This dog clothing season will be extremely hot this time. Thanks to great number of celebrities too, of course. Can you imagine the Chihuahua like Paris Hilton's cute one, Tinkerbell, not wearing a fashionable novelty? In fact, Hillary Duff’s Dachshund and Legally Blonde’s Bruiser can hold sticks with little mod Tinkerbell. But no way should you forget to make sure the Chihuahua clothes are functional, keep your dog’s best interest at heart.

Every small dog must have a small dog sweater this season. They are functional in that they keep the tiny and toy breeds warm, like Chihuahuas and miniature Pinsher yet fashionable as they showcase your dog's explosive personality. Dog Sweaters are mostly hand made and come in a plethora of variations. Just pick a small dog sweater that says who your little precious dog is and you can't go wrong. A holiday dog sweater is a must have this season. This year let your dog "deck the halls" in a Christmas tree dog sweater or a solid red or green small dog sweater.

Cold Season Chihuahua Clothes   Another must have thing is a dog coat. This is especially true to those dogs in colder climates. Dog coats have come far from some random unattractive pieces of material sewn together. There are raincoats, fleece dog coats, sweat shirts and even leather dog coats. Find a dog jacket or small dog coat that is both functional and fashionable. If you'd like to dress up a long hair breed like a Shih-Tzu or Terrier try accessorising them. Contrary to what you see on "celebrity dogs" bows are not the most comfortable thing you could put on a dog. Detailed bandannas are in this season and are much more comfortable than bows. Another way to dress up your little one is with a beautiful dog collars and leash.

This season, think leather. A leather collar is a classic. Most importantly, remember this season is about dog fashion, not about breaking the bank. There's no reason why you should pay over $30 for any of the items mentioned. Even though clothing for dogs are small and detailed, they're relatively inexpensive to make. Don't be fooled by stores trying to make you pay a hundred or even hundreds of dollars for these miniature pieces of Chihuahua clothing. As I said, dog clothes need to be functional. Dogs need to be dogs, not art pieces or accessories. One has to understand dogs don't understand the value of the piece of dog clothing you have bought them. Don't be surprised when they tear up the rhinestone encrusted dog sweater you were duped into buying. This season be smart and have fun. Use dog clothes and dog fashion to highlight the love of your life's personality.

Breeding Chihuahuas - part 2

Chihuahua Clothes

Part 1 and Part 3

Complications with Pregnancy and Delivery

Since these dogs are so tiny, it does not come as a surprise that the average litter is two pups. Chihuahuas can have as little as one pup and as many as four.

Bear in mind that even though the litters are not large stillborn births are common. Your female may require an emergency caesarian section. There is always the threat that the mother (brood bitch) will not make it through the surgery.

Chihuahua pups have large heads. Their heads may be too big to naturally pass through the female birthing canal. You may need to monitor the birth. If there are any signs of distress, or prolonged delivery, contact your veterinarian.

Another point to consider is that Chihuahuas often have breech births. You will need immediate access to the veterinarian or have one available to guide you through the process of delivering (whelping) the pups in worst case scenarios.

Breeding Chihuahuas

Chihuahua Clothes

Part 2 and Part 3

Before getting a Chihuahua you should consider exploring some essential questions and information about breeding Chihuahuas in order to prevent possible mistakes.

Breeding Chihuahuas is not an undertaking for the inexperienced. These tiny dogs have a lot of difficulty with delivery (whelping). They are very fragile animals with easily breakable bones and many things can go wrong. As a word of caution, you should consult your veterinarian before taking on this endeavor. Your pet should receive a complete bill of health before undergoing the process. You should be able to communicate with your veterinarian at any time when you have any questions about your Chihuahua's health or her ability to bring her litter to term.

luxations, leg perthes and more.

Breeding

There is much more involved in breeding than simply choosing two purebred Chihuahuas to mate. A complete history of genotype and phenotype of the animals is required to avoid genetic complications such as heart problems, liver shunts, patellar

When to Breed

Do not mate your female before she weighs at least four pounds. You will also want to make sure that she is at least one year old before you start. A Chihuahua should never be bred during the first, second and possibly the third heat because of their delicate constitutions.

Male Chihuahua Names - part 2

Cute Chihuahua

Special Names For The Little Guy

Male Chihuahua names can vary from something fun, or even funny, to something with a masculine touch. Although these pets can weigh as little as 3-5 lbs. for the toy variety, they have a massive personality that makes up for their small stature. With this in mind, a strong, masculine name is perfectly suitable, although strong names are not for every male pooch.

Consider some of physical traits of the dog, as well as the outstanding personality characteristics. For Chihuahuas, what stands out the most is their vibrant energy and take-charge attitude that makes them the leader of any pack. It is also hard to miss the sweet face, big round eyes, and ears that seem just a tad big for their small frame. This gives them a charming look that cannot be passed up.

Remember that Chihuahuas have become extremely popular throughout the United States in the last 10-20 years, so finding a unique name for your new pet is important. This sets them apart from every other dog in the neighborhood, at the dog park, or even in their own litter. Something about that dog made him unique to you, so consider what that is before choosing a any boy name.

Chihuahua Clothes Must-Have Items

Caring for each Chihuahua type is the same right down to the fashionable clothing you can purchase them. What fashionable clothing has to do with Chihuahua care? The truth is clothing (not so much the fashion aspect of it) offers your Chihuahua protection against severe weather and the elements.

For instance, during the winter, your Chihuahua will not grow a coat like the Siberian Husky normally does that is designed to protect him from the cold. Thus and so, to keep your dog comfortable when you take him out, dressing him in a sweater or jacket will help him maintain warmth. What is more, dog clothing can also help to keep the coats of long-haired Chihuahuas free from dirt and mats when they go outside to play.

The three most practical dog apparel items you should get are:

    1. Coat

    2. Sweater

    3. Boots

Now we’ll take a closer look at each so you can see the benefits they have to offer.

Chihuahua Clothes BootsDog coats – Dog coats are great if speaking about the winter and the rainy seasons. Keep in mind that there are plenty of dog coats on the market, so you will need to measure your Chihuahua to ensure you provide him with the correct size. Benefits include:

    • Stops coat from becoming matted

    • Stop dogs from getting wet during a rain storm. Most Chihuahuas don’t like their coat getting wet.

    • Keeps a dog warm on a cold winters day

    • Bright coats can help make your dog visible to others in bad weather, and from a distance.

Dog Sweaters – Sweaters are the most popular clothing items from amongst Chihuahua Clothes. They are lighter than dog coats, and provide better Chihuahua care in the fall and the less cold months. The benefits associated with dog sweaters are:

    • Keeps the dog warm during the cool months of early spring and fall.

    • They are comfortable and easy for your dog to wear.

    • They come in many designs so you can procure some great looking sweaters to suit all of the holidays if are interested in making a fashion statement with your dog.

    • Sweaters are cheaper than coats.

    • Sweaters can be hand-made.

Dog Boots – It may sound foolish to put booties on your Chihuahua, but if you think about protecting his sensitive paws from things such as ice or sharp pebbles, the idea of your Chi wearing booties as paw protection doesn’t sound so silly. The following are some Chihuahua care benefits regarding boots:

    • Boots protect his feet and legs from cold weather, harsh terrains, hot asphalt, snow, ice, mud, thorns, sharp rocks, etc.

    • Absorbs the shock of walking and cushions the amount of force being inflicted on the leg. This is a great feature, especially when you consider that Chihuahuas are prone to knee problems.

    • Insulates and warms a considerable portion of the feet as well as the muscles and joints in the legs.

    • Absorbs from the every kind of dirt and mud, keeping Chihuahua’s cushions clean.

Properly clothing your dog is a big part of Chihuahua care. Chihuahua Clothes will keep him well protected, content and comfortable in the harsher climates, allowing him to enjoy his walks all year round come rain, snow or shine!
