About Chihuahua – When It Is Too Cold For Chihuahua?

If you don’t have your own little cute Chihuahua yet, you must learn a lot of information about it – how to take care about it, how to feed, air, and treat it. It is essential to learn as much as you can before you buy a puppy, so you would be armed to the teeth if anything goes wrong (we hope, though, it won’t).

When it is too cold to air your Chihuahua? When it is too cold out there? Is he shivering because of cold?

Well, you must know that Chihuahuas do shiver when they're cold, but they also shiver when they feel unhappiness, excitement, fear, or worrisome. This is a result of having a high metabolism, and is a normal characteristic of this breed. As an owner, you must be very sensitive to the fact that short-haired Chihuahuas, and even long-haired ones, are very vulnerable to the cold. It is not recommended to walking your Chihuahua in temperatures of 35-40 degrees Fahrenheit (~ 1-4 °C) without a special dog sweater. Walking your Chihuahua when it is even colder is strongly discouraged, especially when there is a wind-chill factor. In some cold regions, an indoor heater will be necessary to keep your Chi comfortable.
