Love These 2 DIY- projects With A Little Bit Of Safari Twist...

Those of you whom stops by frequently knows about my Colonial and Safari passion since a few weeks back... I always seem to have these periods when I get totally up in the air about something; it can be a color, a typical style, an item...

It´s an on going process and every single time I´m convinced I will stay in this particular mood for a very long time! Something new always seems to show up much, much faster than expected though!
Anyway, I found 2 DIY-projects with a little safari theme(I´m still hooked) I thought you might enjoy just as much as I did!?

The first one comes from The Nate Berkus Show. Inspired by Ralph Lauren this down below blue alligator serving tray was made.

I have some red alligator fabric laying in my wardrobe(bought years back, not knowing then what I would use it for). Finally it´ll come to some great use cause I really love this idea!

Next DIY- project I found via Vintage Revivals and was originally published and made by Bon Temps Beignet.
Instead of buying a really, really expensive zebra shade and lamp base this girl came up with an much more inexpensive solution and the result I must say is amazing!

Before I leave I would love to show you a little something from my own home... Yesterday I went to a local market. A woman who travels the world- mostly India and Bali- comes every year to my town with handcrafts and textiles from far away continents. Inspired by one of the images from a previous post...

I bought this down below sparkling orange and red blanket. I will either put it at the ending of the bed or let it hang as a grande painting on my bedroom wall.

Perfect Weekend Projects...

Thank you for bearing with me during my Dining room fever the past weeks!
None of you spoke out about it but I got a feeling you felt kind of tired of this whole subject so, I´m just gonna give it a rest for now.
I would still love to have some more opinions though:)...

Instead I thought I´d share these DIY pattern projects this weekend. I love this pattern and found 3 different ways to expose it in your own home.

1.

First we have a tip I found over at favourite designer Nate Berkus Show. A beautiful pelmet box made from scratch. To see fully instructions click HERE.

This dresser I LOVE. It does not only have that great pattern on it, it is also Blue, a colour I have a strong passion for right now!

I´m In Love...

Yes, it´s true!
I am madly head over heels in love with this(above) dining room.
White walls and flooring, framed black and white photos, panton chairs and a rustic old dining table. A perfect example of how well it works to mix old with new!
This is really all I need! Simple and beautiful!
Would you agree/disagree?

I also tend to fall in love with every pic that has a light and brightness in it. After some dark months up here in the north the light has slowly started to return to us Swedes. That is actually all people talk about in the streets, the light and the upcoming spring! The days are getting longer and I feel more positive, refreshed and energized than I´ve done in months.
With this positive feeling a lot of creativity has also started to bubble inside of me. There is so much inspiration to be found out there on the internet, so many talanted people, so many great ideas!
I almost feel overwhelmed, I would like to get started with them all, right now!

One simple project that I already have nailed on my 'To do list' though, are these amazing above Reclaimed wood carts. Ana White is the girl behind the design. At 'Anas blog-That DIY blog'- you´ll find tons and tons of DIY-projects. From small and simple ones like the above one, to bigger ones, like bookshelves, headboards, night stands, cabinets, built- ins, chairs, stools, desks, well- even your very own sofa!

Ana´s moto goes something like this:
'If I can do it so can you. And if thousands of other people, just like me can do it, so can you!' In other words, go on get started, pick a project and follow Ana´s step by step instructions.

Besides Ana´s fantastic blog I the other day, also stumbled over this- I have to say- stunning stencil project, and felt I just had to share it with all of you!
Using stencil patterns on precut pieces of wood makes this project quite simple and will dress up just any staircase in no time at all(or almost). I could see even myself actually accomplish this project fully on my own.
