A Happy Home...

Hi there!

Thank you for stopping by!

A new week is on and I feel happy to let you all step inside a very unique two-storey flat in an Edwardian building in the north of London.

This home is truly one of my all time favourite ones and like no other takes the concept of an 'Ecelctic style' to a whole new level!

I just Love it and am hoping you´ll do too!

Jimmie, the owner of the home, not to mension one half of cutting-edge furniture design duo
Jimmie Martin, loves to clash the ornate with the simple, and the antique with the modern.

Junk-shop finds and personal treasures give the
home an intimate feel. The black sculpture, for example, is comprised of 3 stools that Jimmie bought on eBay and stapled together.

Oh, that is such a great idea, don´t you think!?

Boards mounted with
Jimmie Martin wallpaper have been propped up in the dining area. I would absolutely love to get an example of this one, but can´t help to wonder if I would be able afford it!? The carpet was ripped up to leave unsanded floorboards for a bleached, driftwood feel.

To create some inexpensive, unique art for his hallway landing, Jimmie covered a door found in a skip with an old bed sheet which he painted white before writing lyrics from a Swedish song across it.

The small kitchen has been given a shot of life by using chartreuse on one wall. It’s a really bold colour that brightens up the space without being too crazy, and it softens the industrial look.

In the bedroom Jimmie reupholstered this antique bed and painted the Union Jack design directly onto the fabric. He then added definition to the frame with silver leaf.

So cool!

A wall of black creates drama and depth in this quite small bathroom. The basin was just the cheapest one going, but with the extra-tall mirror and black backdrop, it looks really sleek.

Believe it or not but some of the furniture pieces in Jimmies home are to be found at IKEA!

If you feel curious, feel more than welcome to check out my follow up post on this one, over at my other blog 'IKEA- A Way of Living'!

xoxo
