First Sunday of Advent...

This morning I woke up to a wintry First Sunday of Advent.
Me and spouse had a long breakfast together enjoying all of the Christmas decor, finally put in place.

I love to lighten up all of the advent candles and other Christmas light fixtures hanging in the windows this morning. I´m very traditional that way, and always like to wait till we´ve actually reached the First Sunday of Advent, before I do so!
Photos: Country Living

Another layer of snow falling this morning, covers all of the trees outside my window and I can´t wait to get outside!
It´s such a beautiful November day!

Later this afternoon we´ll be serving 'Glögg'(mulled wine) here at my place(I wish I could say 'cozying up by the fire' as well, unfortunately we don´t have one) and listen to some beautiful Christmas music, celebrating it´s less than 4 weeks until Santa will arrive on his sleigh!
Whoopee:)!

I wish you all a calm and cozy sunday!

Sending all my love to all of you!

The Happy Chanukah Dog Tank is a great addition to any dog's wardrobe during the holidays or maybe the Happy Chanukah Dog Shirt will do the trick.

Our most beautiful outfit is the Festive Hanukkah Coat by Deni Alexander - an absolutley stunning blue fleece coat. Trimmed in white faux fur, features silver belt and silver organza applique work. A jeweled Star-of-David charm is placed center back of this dog coat. Just lovely, especially at parties and social events.

Get ready for Xmas, Part 5...

This will be my last 'Easy to do- X-mas decor tip' (for now). This one is so simple and easy to do it almost feels silly to even make a post about it:).
Before I go on though, I have to tell you we´ve got snow here in Sweden!

Until now I´ve actually been glad about the lack of snow, but when it finally came I totally had to change my opinion about it. It feels amazing, I absolutely love looking out on the white landscape and it also feels so much brighter(Let me tell you, November is a dark month up here in the North!).
My Christmas spirit has now awakened for real and I can´t wait for the Holiday to actually come!

Photo: Google

Tip No.5- Christmas tree balls
I really liked this idea of using christmas tree balls in a bowl or casually put on a beautiful silver tray. There are so many lovely christmas tree balls to be found nowdays and even if you won´t put in a christmas tree in your home, you can still enjoy them! They are also very, very affordable and sustainable.

In other words, with a little thought and ingenuity you can decorate your whole home with these inexpensive and lovely ornaments!
For me, I must say, this feels like the perfect Holiday decor!

This would be it for me this week!

I really hope you´ve enjoyed these 'Easy to do-X-mas decor tips' and that they´ll bring you some ideas for your own Holiday homes!
Again, thank you for your sweet comments and your support, I feel so bad for not stopping by at your places, but promise to do so asap!

Have a great weekend!

Bye for now!

Get ready for Xmas, Part 4...

Photo: Vakre Hjem

Tip No.4- Sweater stockings
I really love all of these knitted stockings seen everywhere in every Christmas pic! But, I would not have the talent nor time to do one of my own. You see, when it comes to knitting, I´m lost and it would take me ages to accomplish a creation like that(I wish though)!

Again, Martha Stewart has come to my rescue. She came up with the brilliant idea of making a stocking out of a sweater. This really fits me just right!

Photo: Martha Stewart

Martha says that sweaters with unusual pockets, collars, or buttons make excellent stockings, and making a stocking from a patterned sweater creates the illusion that you knit it yourself. Whoopee:)!
Instructions on how to make your very own Sweater stocking here.

Happy wednesday all!

Get ready for Xmas, Part 3...

Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells...
Christmas spirit has a lot to do with all of our senses. Vision is one, smell, taste and touch other ones. This post will be about our 5:th sense.

Photo: We heart it

Tip No.3- Jingle Bell
s
Jingle bells, Jingle bells, Jingle all the way...

Todays 'Easy to do- Xmas decor tip' is all about this(down below) sooo simple jingle bell doorhanger. It´ll only take you a sec to do this! (Bells in various sizes should not be a hard thing to find among christmas decoration supplies in almost every store by this time of year!).
Hang it where it will be heard (on a door, for instance), and bring the ring of sleigh bells to all the rooms in the house!

Photos: Real simple

You can also use jingle bells as a part of your Christmas table setting or put them on a pair of slippers.

Why not let the kids run around the house in a pair of those and bring Christmas spirit and music to your ears!?

Ps.
Thank you so much for your cute comments!
You are all so supportive and I appriciate it more than words could ever tell!
I promise to check in on all of you later on this week!

Get ready for Xmas, Part 2...

Christmas can be such a hectic time for all of us and its really not meant to be!
Therefore I´m hoping these personal favourite 'Easy to do- Xmas decor tips' will ease your preparations for the upcoming Holiday and in much shorter time still bring you a perfect Christmas spirit home!
Now, are you ready for another tip?
Well, here it comes!

Tip No.2- Small tree
There´s really no need to put in a full scale Christmas tree! Usually this takes a lot of effort, it does not fit in your car, you might need someone to help you carry it inside, you might also need to move your furniture around to make place for it in your home, then we have all of the decorations needed to get it to look right, and so on.
Why not make things a bit easier for yourself this year?

I absolutely loved this idea down below, using a much smaller tree, put on a beautiful table(choose a table you already have in place).
I think this one is a real eye catcher! Also sooo much easier for you to accomplish and thanks to its height(using a table underneath), it´ll bring you the exact same Christmas spirit as an ordinary tree would do!

Photos: We heart it

I hope you´ve enjoyed and feel inspired(all the way to Sydney, Australia:))!

There´ll be another tip coming up tomorrow.

Get ready for Xmas...

It´s a bit early, I know but at the same time you´ll actually need some time to prepare your decorations for the upcoming Holiday, so I thought I´d start to share with you some of my favourite 'Easy to do- Xmas decor tips'.
There will be a tip for every day the upcoming week!

Tip No.1- Silk ribbons
Using red silk ribbons must be one of the most simple, easiest and effective ways to get your home ready for Christmas!
Down below are a some of my personal favourite ideas!

Make a wish...

Christmas is such a perfect time for dreams and wishes...

Some people see things as they are and ask Why?
I dream dreams that never were and ask Why not?
George Bernard Shaw

I have a lot of wishes and dreams, some of them are Big others smaller.
For example I dream my home would be and feel just as harmonious as this down below.
My home is at this point not a very harmonious home, it has never been actually. It feels more like a building site, both inside and out.
But we´ll get there some day, I´m sure:)!

On my wishlist you´ll also find this knitted cardigan from Lexington. Looks so warm and cozy!

Photo: Lexington

Books are a constant wish, you simply can not ever have too many of them!
This book down below is one of my latest wants!

Photo: Trendenser

And since I´m an 'early riser' whom likes morning coffee, I´m dreaming of one of those fantastic coffeemakers that´ll bring you a latte or a cappucino or just your ordinary black coffe in a sec!

Some of you already knows of my dreams of having a bathtub. No place to put it just yet, but still...

This Gustavian piece I found as an object in an online auction nearby and I´m seriously thinking of buying it(I´m pursuing my eclectic style:)). Of course it´ll all depend on what the price will head at!
I keep on dreaming of it(Why not?) and mayby, just mayby if I´m really lucky, it´ll be mine for an amount of money that will suit my economy just right!

What´s on Your list of dreams and wishes?

london.

i just came home from doing a guestspot at jayne doe.it was a week of hanging out with really good people in one of the nicest shops i have ever been to,eating delicious chinese fake meat(with french fries,of course)and leaving marks on a few people.
if you are in the area, check out the shop and the artists working there.

it will be worth it.

10 Ways to get inspired...

Hi all!
I hope you´ve had a fantastic weekend so far!?
With only 2 weeks to first Sunday of Advent my mind has now really started to think about the upcoming Holiday.

I have not yet gotten into the holiday spirit but my dear friend Charlotta over at' Space For Inspiration' had a fantastic Christmas post the other day(with tons of inspiration) and this has given me a ride!
Charlotta also inspired me to take on and make my very own list of '10 ways to get inspired for Christmas'.
So here it comes!

1.

First of all I would like to start with a very basic cleaning of the house.
It might not feel very fun but once its done, it feels all faboulous!

Masison Belle Christmas clean is a non-toxic all-purpose household cleaner
suitable for daily cleaning needs. It has a fragrance infused with orange and cinnamon and will give your home the wonderful scent of Christmas!

2.

Candles.
Those really helps me get into a relaxed and cozy feeling for Christmas!

Photo: We heart it

3.
Then I would like to add Mulled wine or 'Glögg' as we call it in Sweden.
This is a must for me to get into the holiday spirit!

Photo: Unknown

4.
Of course there has to be some Christmas music in the background as well.

5.

No.5 on my list would be to put in some Amaryllis.

It´s a good idea to start early to get them into a 'Christmas bloom'!

Photo: Decorpad

6.
I have this year started a new tradition in my home.
You see, I have for the first time ever designed my very own 'Advent candlestick'.
With some black candles(from the store of course:)), paint, homemade stencils of numbers and a rough steel tray made by the spouse, the result came out like this...

7.
Find time to make some homemade Christmas sweets
.
These peppermint sticks look beautiful and is suppose to taste even better!
Leave them out in a dish when trimming the tree
or relaxing by the fire with a mug of hot cocoa.

Get the recepie here!

8.
Start early writing Christmas cards(usually this happens in a last minute hurry).
Oh, and I loved this idea of a perfect Gift frame (Christmas)card holder.

Photo: Pottery Barn

9.

Make plans for this years Christmas tree.
I loved the simplicity of this look.

10.

Stroll through the city by yourself and look around for the perfect Christmas gifts.
The stores really knows how to get you into a perfect Holiday mood!

I hope my list have given you at least 'some' tip and inspiration
for the upcoming Holiday!

Have a great Sunday!
